what’s in your #FitnessCloset?

fitness_closet (1)This was an idea posted by @PavementRunner. I thought it seemed fun and creative. I know I talk a lot about the shoes and gear that I have, but maybe it could help a novice runner (since I’m a mature runner now) on gear and such to check out.

It all starts with the shoes, here we go!

Before I really got into the sport of running, I was more of an affordable shoe kinda girl. And when I say affordable, I mean, if it fits and it’s on sale, it’s mine. I learned that is not the way to go. My dogs are thanking me now.

Brooks PureFlow- new main running shoes
Brooks PureCadence- maxed out on running miles approx 300+ miles
New Balance Minimus- Weightlifting shoes
Nike Air- primarily used as my indoor soccer shoes
Nike Lunar Lite- backup shoes; will be next mud run donation shoes
Nike Dual Fusion- weekend shoes

Lots and lots of race tech shirts, but I will highlight a few favs.

Although I love the flashy training shirts, I prefer colored shirts over white. I love my royal blue Landrunners shirt. For the most part, shirts are nice to run in when they’re free. Other shirts I enjoyed training include my Route 66 Triathlon shirt, because it was the first triathlon I competed in last summer.

Thank God for warmer weather!!! Which means I get to show a little bit of shoulder. I love, love, love racer back tanks. I’m fortunate that a lot of my workout clothes I’ve gotten through work. My gray tank is my all-time favorite.

SPORT BRAS- **Most important**
Sport bras can really break the bank. But, they are extremely vital to all female athletes. Always choose a wicking fabric and never, never cotton. Cotton will causes chaffing and possible growth of bacteria from sweat lingering. Trust me on this one!
