Peace Corps Namibia has had over 1,665 volunteers since the program was established in 1990- the year of Namibia’s independence. Volunteers in Namibia work under one of the three sectors: education, community economic development, or health. Volunteers learn to speak local languages, including Afrikaans, Khoekhoegowab, Otjiherero, Oshindonga, Oshikwanyama, Rukwangali, Silozi.
